Hi! I’m Shealee!

I’m an Integrative Health Practitioner with my Bachelors of Science in Public Health, and I am so happy you’re here! I spent years struggling with my own health and wellness, so if you are currently dealing with your own health challenges, you’re in the right place. For years I dealt with digestive issues. I was told I had irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), had my gallbladder removed when I was 11 years old, was put on many different diets and medications, all to no avail. I was living my life needing to constantly be close to a bathroom, never knowing when my stomach would turn. My stress levels were HIGH. My immune system was weak. I dealt with chronic strep, mono, shingles, pneumonia and caught every cold and flu. I was put on multiple rounds of antibiotics. I was on birth control for 10 years. I was dealing with chronic migraines. I was always tired, yet even when exhausted I was not sleeping well. I knew my body and my mind were not in a good place. It wasn’t until I found functional medicine that I was able to start to turn my health around for the better.

For me, the big turning point was deciding to dedicate myself to my own health and wellness. I started by running functional medicine lab tests. I found out I was dealing with a leaky gut, candida and bacterial overgrowth, elevated cortisol at night making it hard for me to fall asleep and get a good nights rest, sensitivities to foods I was consuming daily, hormone levels that were functionally low, chronic systemic inflammation, toxic metal exposure and vitamins and minerals that were out of range and imbalanced. It wasn’t until I started addressing these findings and working on core lifestyle changes that I finally started to feel better. Now I am on a mission to help you do the same, and share with you what I wish I knew years ago.
Although conventional medicine has its place, I felt conventional medicine had failed me. I went back and forth multiple times to the doctor throughout the years, feeling unheard and being offered band-aid solutions that did not address the root cause of my symptoms.
That is why with my clients I focus on a root cause approach. I look at your whole world — your body, your mind, and your lifestyle. This whole body approach to wellness enables me to look at all aspects of your life and health so we can get to the root cause of why you are feeling unwell. The goal: get you well and keep you well.
My path to wellness was not a quick fix, it required patience, compassion and willingness to embrace change. But if you’re ready to start feeling better, ready to start taking control of your own health and wellness, send me a message and we will do it together.
